Alexis Kaminsky
Artist Alexis Kaminsky likes where art-making takes her. She likes running up against physics, the limitations of materials, and the limits of her own skill and knowledge. She is particularly taken with sculpture.
As part of her work, she builds Memory Boxes from image and story. She says, “The sculptural aspect of memory boxes beg the observer to reach out to pet the dog; the box provides a safe place to store tokens of memory–a collar, tags, a canine tooth pulled, ashes…”
Alex will create a new box for Sheltered. It will be in a tribute box that honors all rescue dogs.

Custom memory and tribute boxes are available to order at http://www.alexiskaminsky.com/#!work/c1ekr. Example, not for sale.
