Through photography, Justin Bulava provides a perspective in which the focus is on the often overlooked, the non-subject, the negative space. Other common themes his work encounters are the reactions of opposing forces, notably, the strange and beautiful connection between the manmade and natural worlds, geometric shape and line vs. the shape of the tree, and the insignificance of humans in the context of the vastness of the universe. Most importantly, he is an experimenter at heart in his musical and visual work, just looking for opportunities that chance affords us.
