Isabella La Rocca received a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.F.A. in Photography from Indiana University. Awards for her work include the Ferguson Grant for excellence and commitment in the field of photography from the Friends of Photography in San Francisco. She teaches multimedia art at Berkeley City College in Berkeley, CA and photography at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA.

She will have two pieces in Sheltered from her project TESTAMENT, which seeks to communicate the perspective of individual animals who are imprisoned in places of animal exploitation or who have been rescued from exploitation, cruelty, or death, by using strategies traditional to portraiture, with love and empathy. Isabella was awarded a grant from the Culture and Animals Foundation for her series TESTAMENT.
