Artist Cathy Wycliff holds a Master’s in Education from National-Louis University and received her Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University, Chicago, with a double major in art and education. She has been a lifelong educator–now retired–who has taught young children with special needs with an emphasis on art. She has taught at the college level as well and has raised a family. She has been in juried photography shows in Dallas, Texas, but is relatively new to the world of juried fiber exhibits. She is an active senior member of the on-line Felting & Fiber Forum, where her work is currently galleried. Sharing and learning from other fiber artists has been a huge influence on her current body of work. She has also been influenced by many artists in different medium, and she is constantly learning new techniques in felting. She is propelling her felt to the next level by practicing her art full-time. She was born, raised and currently resides in the near-north Chicago suburbs with her two adopted cats, Travis and Sidecar.

Cathy felts landscapes, cityscapes and animal portraits (one of which she is donating to the Sheltered silent auction). She also enjoys hand-embroidery and sculptural felt works.
