Chicago-area artist Sally Hughes created “Did They Forget Me” as a tribute to all the screen warriors who’ve fallen to the paws of dogs everywhere. It represents knowledge gained as a long-time dog co-habitator and owner of two seasonal dog-freindly cottages. “Squirrels, chipmunks, woodchucks, possums and other woodland critters have learned how to live with the dogs in my life,” she says. “But my screens have not. They are in constant peril.”

We love the textures and layers of paint in this piece.
