Pet Assistance League of Northern California (PAL), a major sponsor of Sheltered, is holding a used book drive, Oct 27-Nov 14, to benefit Yolo Community Cats (YCC). Books will be collected in a PAL collection bin inside Davis Arts Center near the Tsao Gallery doors. All books collected will be processed through Lynn4Pets. All proceeds from books collected at Sheltered will go to YCC, a dedicated group of volunteers who maintain numerous feral cat colonies in Yolo County.

YCC is in need of establishing an ongoing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program so that Yolo cat colonies remain stable and do not grow.

This is an important cause–and speaks to the heart of Sheltered–which is raising awareness of animals in need. Feral cats and kittens who are brought into shelters are routinely euthanized. TNR programs provide cats with an opportunity to live out their lives as they wish, in organized, outdoor colonies.  Its a win-win situation for all us creatures!

Alley Cat Allies is a beneficiary of Sheltered. The are a national advocacy organization dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of all cats.
